Overview[]
Duskmoon Tower is an area located on Bitterblack Isle, initially accessed from the Garden of Ignominy.
The Duskmoon Tower connects to the Rotunda of Dread, the Ward of Regret, and the Vault of Defiled Truth on the first floor - the door to the vault requires a Void Key to open.
Inhabitants[]
Barroch makes his initial appearance here. He will remain until the Gazer is defeated for the first time (also in New Game Plus).
Using Rancid Bait Meat in Duskmoon Tower will always lure a Cursed Dragon, if one isn't present, if the bait doesn't work, just reenter the area and the bait that was used will start working.
Pre-Daimon, the Duskmoon Tower is home to Rabbits, Crows and Deer; a few Snakes and Spiders linger near the Rotunda of Dread entrance on the third floor.
Post-Daimon, either a Dire Drake accompanied by 5 Hellhounds, or a Dire Wyvern with two Gargoyles will spawn. A Cursed Dragon may also randomly appear.
Quests[]
- A Guiding Light - meet Barroch in the Duskmoon Tower
- Slumbering Promise - rarify a weapon
Loot[]
Vegetable life includes Lunanise, Cragshadow Morel, as well as Kingwarish and Potent Greenwarish. Minerals from Ore deposits are: Moonstone, Hunk of Platinum, Gold Ore, Silver Ore, Copper Ore, or Rock. Two Macabre Sculptures can be found here.
A variety of common items can be pickup up, or gathered from sacks and Weapon Piles - occasionally Rift Crystal, periapts, or Blast Arrows may be gathered. There's also a Wakestone Shard on a high placed cornice just west from the Garden of Ignominy entrance.
Chests[]
Moonbeam Gem Treasure[]
Chest | Item |
---|---|
A | Ring of Perseverance |
B | Dragon's Ire |
C | Trophy Jacket |
D | Dragon's Glaze |
E | Adept's Robe |
F | Ring of Desiccation |
G | Adept's Mantle |
H | Dragon's Roost |
In addition to their common loot, chests and other items there are eight magick doors here, each opened by a Moonbeam Gem. Behind each door is a small room that contains a chest containing special items. Though not unique each item is rare.
The "Barrel Glitch" exploit allows access to any of the treasure without a gem: all rooms may be accessed, but accessing chest G is hard, and chest F requires going through a wall from the level above.

Notes[]
- Even if a Cursed Dragon appears, Barroch will stoically stand his ground, readily available for the party to change equipment and skill loadouts, purchase healing items, deposit and withdraw items.
- The in game music at the Duskmoon Tower (Duskmoon Tower or 羨月楼) is very similar to or influenced by the Sanctus hymn from the Christian liturgy. (see also Dark Arisen Soundtrack, track 9)
- (Exploit) Restarting the game by switching to Hard Mode resets Bitterblack Isle, making it a quick way to get another copy of the Moonbeam Gem chest loot early in the game.
- (Exploit) Here is a preferred spot to "farm" Cursed Dragons, for details see Farming Exploits § Cursed Dragons
- ERROR!!! An Ore deposit on an elevated ledge (by chest #17 on the map) gives Demon's Periapt, other periapts, or Large Coin Pouches (and no ore) - this is likely to be an error.
